The Joys of Motherhood
  • you wake up and on seeing your Appa, curl your hand and say "Amma" as if to ask "Where is amma?"
  • seeing your little jaw move up and down as you chomp your idli or bread early in the morning.
  • you come running and jump on me and give me a tight hug..
  • you come and rub or lean against my leg while I am coming in the kitchen.
  • when you give me a sudden wet kitchie on my cheek because you heard me saying to your appa "Chumma irunda bore adikaradhu" and you heard the "umma" in chumma and you know that means to kiss.
  • when I enter the store and nearly everybody who crosses our path stops by to look and you and remark that she is "so cute", "so adorable", "precious".
  • when you learn a new word everyday and try to repeat all that we ask you to in the sweetest voice I have ever heard.
  • when I see you sitting on Appa's legs and swinging about, grinning and refuse to get down as if to indicate it is the best place to be.
  • when early in the morning when I make you stand on the wash basin slab to brush your teeth and you look at your reflection and give the sweetest smile while saying "Maya"
... and many more ..

The tears of Motherhood
  • when I have to drop you off at the day care with you wailing so loudly that you break my heart.
  • when you want to go back to sleep and yet I have to wake you up at 7:45 in the morning to take you to day care.
  • when at times you just wont leave my side at home and I cannot come to play with you because I have to cook for us.
  • when I peek through the door in the day care and see you reading some books and playing and I want to come in and hug you tightly, but can't because you would cry your eyes out when I left again.

Very nicely put Vidhya.

I,initially cried when the little one clung on to my legs when I left him at the day care.

Few days later, I cried again when he smiled, waved a bye and blew a kiss at me when I left him at the day care ... because he did not miss me !!

As the hubby says, the craziness of motherhood !

very true vidhya....i was almost tears when pranav got his 1st vaccination, he cried out so loud, but was quite in next minute when i consoled him...but for just that moment i almost was in tears....my husband asked me at this rate what would you do when he goes to play and comes back with wounds all over!!

The past two weekends and the week between have been really hectic, so did not find time to pen down anything. The weekend of Oct 6th we had been for a “Fall Tour” to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan(more on this in next post). Chocolat(i) Chunnu.... Biscutta Bunnu.....

Has it every happened that there is this movie that you just happen to adore beyond reasons and when you tell that to people, who otherwise like your tastes pretty much, look at you as if you have lost your mind ? That you watch the same movie twice in two days and even then you are ready to watch it a third time too, without batting an eyelid ...  This is how I am feeling about 'Jagga Jasoos'. I keep scouring the internet hoping for news that the movie is as hit as I am feeling it should be. Everytime I ask a friend to watch the movie, I am hoping he/she feels what I felt about the movie - that I loved every frame of the movie (except of that really unnecessary "khana-peena-chale-gaye" song). Cashew Pista Ladoo

There are a group of food bloggers that I got to know from Indra's Site. They host an event called Jhiva for Ingredients - one food ingredient is choosen, and people are asked to send in recipes using that ingredient. The current event is hosted by Vineela, and the ingredient is Milk. Mine is not exactly a recipe based entirely on Milk, but uses milk to a small extent. It is a recipe told to me by mom. I am very amateur cook and it did not turn out to be exactly as amma said it should be (Jaana tha Japan pahunch gaye cheen samjhe na?), but nevertheless with encouragement and tips provided by hubby dear, we turned it into something tasty :). Thought I would send the recipe to Vineela, I am not sure she would post it in her fest, but nobody got flogged for trying right ? :) What you need? 1 Cup cashewnuts 1/4 cup pistachios Milk - enough to soak the above 2 nuts(around 1 1/2 cups for the above measure) Sugar Ghee- 2-3 tablespoons How to make it?
